Dining at NomaEating at Noma, only fours days after it was awarded the title of 2010 S.Pellegrino World’s Best Restaurant was an incredible experience. It is impossible to describe the dinner in a few words, but what I loved the most is that it was so true to itself. We tasted Nordic cuisine, herbs, pickled vegetables, berries and more. I chose to pair my meal with wines while Susan had hers with a juice pairing – incredible, especially the apple and pine shoots! What stood out for me? The raw chestnuts sliced at different thicknesses for texture, served with a fishroe sauce, rye crumbs and cress. The whole crayfish tail, just cooked, served on a rock from the beach with a cream of oyster, and powder of seaweed which had to be eaten without cutlery – fabulous! Then there was the dehydrated scallop with grains, watercress and seaweed/squid ink oil. In fact every course, of our six hour long dinner, was amazing. From the six pre-dinner amuse – served with champagne – to the incredible 12 courses that followed. My inspiration has been completely re-charged. I only wish Copenhagen was a little closer to Franschhoek… Comments: 2»
Le Quartier Français Packages – Book Now!2010 certainly began with a bang. It’s hard to believe that we’re already in the third month of the year. The Christmas and New Year break are now a distant memory, the Soccer World Cup is around the corner and the end of Summer is rapidly approaching. At Le Quartier Français we know that it’s been three long months since your last real break and we think it’s time you recharged your soul on a mini-break. Pick from our selection of fantastic packages (the stay for 4 pay for 3 is always popular) and book yourself and a loved one, or friend, in for a night or four.
We suggest checking out Franschhoek during the lesser-known months of April and May, it really is spectacular over this time. It’s not too hot, the wind is minimal and it’s far less frantic than during January and February. Plus restaurant bookings are far easier to come by! To view the various Le Quartier Français packages please visit our website. To book call us on +27218762151. See you soon!
