A Few 2010 Franschhoek Bastille Festival Pictures

We had such a wonderful time at the 2010 Franschhoek Bastille Festival, last weekend, that we thought we’d share some of the fun with those who couldn’t attended.

The Chef and The General Manager having a fabulous time setting the Le Quartier Français and Bread & Wine stands.

Archie, ever the educator, taking some time out to explain to the Môreson team where Mademoiselle Lamb Burgers come from.

The Saturday crowd. It was like this from 12:00 – 18:00. Madness!

Judging by the crowds, and the reports we’ve already received, Bastille is a festival that is going from strength to strength. Well done to everyone who took part and big thank you to the FWVTA – and in particular Darielle – for your excellent organisation.

Exotic Plants now at Môreson

If you’ve visit Le Quartier Français over the last few year you would definitely have noticed our beautiful orchids. We actually can’t take credit for these beautiful plants. Mike Tibbs, from the Exotic Plant Company, handles all our exotic plant and fresh cut flower needs. Mike is our green-fingered magician and he makes sure that, from an indoor plant perspective, the hotel and restaurants always look phenomenal.

The Exotic Plant Company have recently moved their Orchid Nursery and Fresh Cut Flower business to Môreson Farm. They’ve erected a beautiful greenhouse which, as luck would have it, officially opens its first phase tomorrow (Friday the 18th of June 2010). The final phases will be completed by the end of June/July 2010.

The addition of the Exotic Plant Orchid Nursery, to the Môreson offering, means that – as a guest – you can pop in for lunch, at Bread & Wine Vineyard Restaurant; buy a case or two of the excellent Môreson bubbly, Premium Chardonnay or Pinotage to take home; and pick up a orchid (or three) and some beautiful freshly cut flowers on your way out.

For more information about the Exotic Plant Orchid Nursery at Môreson Farm visit their website or call +2721 876 3399.

What are you doing tomorrow?

The mountains, surrounding the Franschhoek Valley, are covered with snow and there is a distinct nip in the air today. This is perfect weather when you consider that tomorrow is a public holiday.

If you’d like to do something delectable tomorrow why not join us, at iCi, for breakfast, lunch or dinner? Actually there is nothing to stop you from enjoying all three of those meals at iCi tomorrow!

We will have our crackling fires going so you know it’s going to be snug. We will also be offering our delicious Winter Warmer Menu.

iCi Winter Warmer Menu 2010

See you – in iCi – tomorrow!

P.S. If you’re in the neighbourhood why don’t you pop into IS Art (the new Le Quartier Français gallery)? Our new exhibition is proving to be very popular!

P.P.S. On the way home you could also visit Bread & Wine Vineyard Restaurant and the Farm Grocer to sample, or buy-to-take-home,  Neil’s range of 2010 World Cup inspired sausages.

TV in iCi for the duration of the 2010 World Cup!

Our casual bistro – iCi – will be screening World Cup 2010 matches for the duration of the tournament!

This means that, starting this Friday the 11th of June 2010, iCi is going to be the place in Franschhoek to catch up on all things football.

Our crackling fires will keep away those winter chills and the delicious full or bar-snacks iCi menu will ensure that you never go hungry. Lend your country’s football team your full support and watch a game, or four, in iCi.

P.S. Don’t forget BaaFana Burger Friday.

Every Friday – until the end of World Cup – you can enjoy a BaaFana Burger, chips, a glass of Miss Molly wine and the free Friday night movie in our Screening Room!

Remember only  30, of Lamb Burger’s Football mad nephews, make an appearance so it’s first come first serve.

Yum!
