Drakenstein Lion Park
Drakenstein Lion Park is situated on 7.5 hectares of ground in Paarl Valley. Stroll through the park at leisure, and view these magnificent animals as well as ostriches and farm yard animals. Best time for viewing would be Monday, Wednesday and Fridays at 16h00 as this is feeding time for the lions.

Le Bonheur Crocodile Farm
Situated in outside Paarl on the R44 (Klapmuts). The farm offers an insightful glimpse into these pre-historic reptiles. Tours offer the chance to touch a baby crocodile, as well as educating persons about the farm and it's inhabitants. Normal feeding times are 12h00 and 15h00 on weekends, but varies during the week. Also offers a licensed café and well-stocked curio shop with durable leather.

Butterfly World
Situated outside Klapmuts, this is the largest free flying park for butterflies. Situated within a tropical garden, there are 11 species with approximately 60 - 70 butterflies flying around, with blue tongues, iguanas and monkeys in the background. Also offers a park where children can view spiders, snakes and scorpions, while a farmyard offers the chance to feed and interact with farm animals. There is a craft shop and the Schmetterling Coffee Garden for light refreshment.

Activities at Spier Estate
This picturesque estate is situated just outside Stellenbosch and offers the following activities for children:
  • Pony and horse carriage rides daily
  • Cheetah Park, where children have the opportunity to view and interact with mature cheetahs as well as cheetah cubs.
  • Eagle Encounter where children can interact with birds of prey.

Toy museum
This unique museum situated in Stellenbosch offers the chance for young and old to experience the wonderful world of toys. Divided into 6 sections, the museum gives an overview of toys through the years showing changes and alterations that toys have gone through over time. Guided tours are available every day.

Aquarium
The Two Oceans Aquarium is situated at the V&A Waterfront. It has more than 3000 animals in 9 galleries. There is a Children's Activity Centre where they can enjoy watching the seals play, watching puppet shows or having their faces painted.

Ratanga Junction
A massive theme park just outside of Cape Town with plenty of rides will keep the entire family entertained for the whole day. With only a one-off entry fee to pay, the rides are for free and you can go as many times as you like.

Monkeytown
Monkeytown is a sanctuary for 25 exotic monkey species just outside of Somerset-West. The sanctuary offers guided tours, feeding time talks, touch farm yard, play park and restaurant. There is also interaction with tame monkeys under guided supervision.
