From it's home base on historic L'Ormarins wine farm beneath the jagged peaks of the Groot Drakenstein mountains in Franschhoek,Anthonij Rupert Wines has cast it's net wide, across the length and breadth of the Cape Winelands, in search of what it takes to make the finest wines this corner of the winemaking world has to offer.

Situated on the foothills of the Klein Drakenstein Mountains just outside Franschhoek, Lynx Wines is the smallest Wine Estate in the Valley producing less than 2500 cases per annum. The team is led by Owner/Winemaker Dieter Sellmeyer, ably assisted by Assistant Winemaker Inge Terblance and Farm Manager Theunis Brandt.

Villiera Wines is situated in the Stellenbosch winelands, between the towns of Stellenbosch and Paarl. Cellar tours and wine tastings are presented on the farm as well as private tastings that must be booked in advance. Guests are welcome to bring their own picnic to be enjoyed with Villiera's lovely wine selection.

Fairview is a third generation family owned wine and cheese farm, on the south-west-facing slopes of Paarl Mountains, a granite rock outcrop in the heart of the Paarl wine district of South Africa. Rhebokskloof Wine Estate, part of the Paarl wine route, nestles between two valleys at the foot of the majestic Paarl Mountain, just 45 minutes from the city of Cape Town. Today Landskroon comprises more than 300 hectares and is managed as a private, family operation and owned by the families of brothers Paul and Hugo de Villiers. Five members of the family are involved in the running of the farm on a full-time basis.

Our food leans towards simplicity – but with an edge. Meals are creative though always clear in structure. Vegetables and fruit gathered daily from the garden are often served with their skins on. Officially opened in February 2005, the Rupert Museum now houses over 350 works, and can be regarded as the premier collection of contemporary South African art from the period 1940 to 1970. The predominant mediums displayed are paintings, sculptures and tapestries.

This nature reserve offers 3 hiking trails which all of them are day walks. The reserve is in the Franschhoek Mountains with breathtaking views. Permits are required to access the Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve which can be obtained from the Franschhoek Wine Valley office.

There are a quite a few Options to choose from when renting a bicycle from Manic Cycles. The most popular choice, are the hybrid bicycles – ideal for riding in and about the Franschhoek village, as well as visiting the surrounding Franschhoek wine farms. For the more adventurous, they also have mountain bikes equipped with front suspension. We also cater for families with young children.

In our Bread & Wine bread making courses you'll be taught how to have fun with food, making magic in any kitchen. Learn how to fill your own kitchen with the famous freshly baked bread smell and become the baker you always knew you could be.

Scenic horse rides to the local forest and mountains for an hour up to two hours, suitable for children over the age of 12.

Eagle Encounters is a bird-of-prey rehabilitation, conservation, education and eco-tourism project where children can interact with birds of prey.

Drakenstein Lion Park is situated on 7.5 hectares of ground in Paarl Valley. Stroll through the park at leisure, and view these magnificent animals as well as ostriches and farm yard animals.

The farm offers an insightful glimpse into these pre-historic reptiles. Tours offers the chance to touch a baby crocodile, as well as educating persons about the farm and it's inhabitants.

This is the largest free flying park for butterflies. Situated within a tropical garden, there are 11 species of approximately 60 - 70 butterflies flying around, with blue tongue, iguanas and monkeys in the background. Also offers a park where children can view spiders, snakes and scorpions, while a farmyard offers the chance to feed and interact with farm animals.

This unique museum situated in Stellenbosch offers the chance for young and old to experience the wonderful world of toys. Divided into 6 sections, the museum gives an overview of toys through the years showing changes and alterations that toys have gone through over time. Guided tours are available every day.

Once at the top visitors enjoy spectacular views and the peaceful feeling of being over one thousand metres above the city below. The area at the top of the mountain is surprisingly large so leave enough time to stroll along the paths, enjoy the viewing platforms and soak up the vistas.

Since 1997 Robben Island has been a museum and a heritage site. The museum is a dynamic institution, which acts as a focal point of South African heritage. It runs educational programmes for schools, youths and adults, facilitates tourism development, conducts ongoing research related to the Island and fulfils an archiving function.

From there, Mandela was moved to the then Victor Verster prison in 1988, where he lived in a private house inside the prison compound. Victor Verster, a farm prison, was often used as a stepping stone for releasing lower-risk political prisoners. Mandela served another three years at Victor Verster until his release on 11 February 1990. On the day of his release, news agencies from all over the world surrounded the prison, gaining the prison much notoriety worldwide.

Located at the southwestern tip of Africa, in the Cape of Good Hope section of the Table Mountain National Park, Cape Point has captivated travellers for centuries with its dramatic scenery and fascinating history.

The Ilse Schermers art gallery at Le Quartier Français is a fine art gallery specialising in contemporary South African art. Well known as well as upcoming artist's work is shown. Sculptures from some of South Africa's leading artists are shown in the charming herb and sculpture garden behind the gallery. The gallery also houses a shop, touches and tastes, where selected pieces of art and craft is sold.

The museum offers a stimulating cultural-historical expierience with display depicting the history of La Motte and its buildings, with a brief review of Cape Dutch architecture, supported by photographs from that era. The largest room in the museum is dedicated to the life and art of one of South Africa's greatest masters, Jacob Hendrik Pierneef, including a display for part of the family collection. previously owned by Pierneef's daughter, Marita

The museum houses a collection of sculptures, paintings, ceramics and graphics done by both South African and foreign artist from the 19th and 20th century The art from foreign artists where produced when they were in South Africa Art works from Anton van Wouw, Hugo Naudé, Thomas Baines, JH Pierneef, Maggie Laubser, Cecil Skotnes and many more are on display. A significant portion of the artwork has been bequeathed to the University over the years.

Dylan Lewis studied painting at the Ruth Prowse School of Art in Cape Town, mastering taxidermy and museum display. He was invited in 1995 to Cordova, Alaska to represent South Africa at Artists for Nature Foundation Expedition.

Pearl Valley Golf Estates the most visually spectacular golf course in the country and arguably the world.
